Global Photophonies

Perve Galeria presents, from September 10th to October 24th, 2026, the exhibition “Global Photophonies”, conceived as the second volume of the project “Fotofonias LusoGráficas”, presented in 2018 at Casa da Liberdade - Mário Cesariny. Starting from the research developed around the Lusofonias Collection, initiated in 1999 by the Perve Multimedia Collective, this new exhibition broadens its scope to an artistic dialogue of global dimension.

Curated by Carlos Cabral Nunes, the exhibition brings together works by Sérgio Santimano, José Chambel, Sérgio Guerra, Renée Gagnon, Tor Seidel, Mário Macialu, Bogdan Gulyay, Ricardo Rangel, Dear Anuska, João Artur da Silva and Fernando Roza d’Oliveira, establishing relationships between different generations, geographies, and sensibilities.

Photography emerges as a central element in a dialogue between cultures, memories, and territories. Between documentary record and poetic expression, the works presented reveal different ways of looking at and interpreting the world, highlighting the image's capacity to preserve experiences, evoke memories, and create new possibilities for reading reality.

While the first project focused on the Portuguese-speaking world, this investigation is now expanded, bringing together different latitudes and cultural contexts. The diversity of the artists gathered builds a visual cartography where distinct images and experiences find points of contact.

More than just a photography exhibition,“Global Photophonies” proposes a space for encounter and reflection, where each image asserts itself as a voice and each gaze contributes to a plural narrative about the contemporary world. The exhibition thus reaffirms Perve Galeria's commitment to fostering dialogue between artists, cultures, and territories through art.
