Private View | London Art Week

Perve Galeria is pleased to announce a Private View in London, presented in the context of London Art Week, bringing together works by Marya Al Qassimi and Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim.

The presentation brings into dialogue two distinct contemporary voices, whose practices address issues of identity, place, memory, materiality, and the relationship between individual experience and broader cultural contexts.

Marya Al Qassimi (b. 1993, United Arab Emirates) develops a practice marked by the intersection of personal and collective histories, exploring issues of identity, gender, cultural belonging, and the complexities of contemporary life in the Gulf. Her works employ intimate and symbolic visual languages to investigate how individual narratives relate to broader social and cultural structures.

Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim (b. 1962, United Arab Emirates) is one of the pioneering figures in the contemporary art scene of the United Arab Emirates and a founding member of the Al Marijah Art Atelier and the Emirates Fine Arts Society. His multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, performance, and various forms of experimentation with matter and space. His work is characterized by an ongoing investigation of the relationship between the individual, landscape, memory, and the rapidly transforming environments of the UAE.

Presented together, the works of Al Qassimi and Ibrahim establish a dialogue between different generations and artistic approaches, highlighting different ways of understanding place, cultural memory, and contemporary identity in the Arab world.

Private View will take place in London, as part of London Art Week. The location will be provided at the time of registration.
